In recent years, the Ministry has strengthened its diplomatic presence, establishing itself as a key player in both hemispheric and global affairs. With a robust network of embassies, high commissions, and consulates in major cities such as Washington, London, Miami, and Toronto, as well as its representation at the United Nations, the Organisation of American States (OAS), and the World Trade Organisation (WTO), it is firmly situated on the global stage. Additionally, the Ministry has sought to enhance its presence in locations such as Beijing, Paris, Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait, while collaborating with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) missions in Morocco, Brussels and Geneva.
With diplomatic relations now established with over 155 countries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs leads this expanding diplomatic corps, supported by the Permanent Secretary and a highly skilled team of ambassadors, foreign service officers, technical experts, and administrative staff who ensures the seamless execution of the country’s foreign policy objectives, advocating for the best interest of Antigua and Barbuda.
